WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"This magic duel was full of surprises and amazingly fascinating - from card tricks to disappearing acts to flames, there was never a dull moment. The talented magicians involved and humored the audience every step of the way! I would definitely go see it again and would recommend anyone to watch this adult -magic show!"

Yelp

"I've seen a lot of magic performances, including at the Magic Castle in L.A. This was easily on par with those. The small audience makes it feel intimate, and the lovely Biltmore Mansion is a perfect setting. Both magicians are really fantastic, and their patter is genuinely funny. In short: A perfect night out."

"'Parlor Magic'? Why do we not have more parlor magic? Not enough parlors, I guess. So a scientist and the parent of a child magician went to see this show at the lovely and intimate parlor of the Carnegie Institute. And knowing many of the techniques to look for, saw nary a one right under our attuned and watchful eyes! Delightful skillful sleight of hand, clever repartee, and a few new twists on some classic magic made for a worthwhile and enjoyable evening out. The only thing we missed was the refreshments at the intermission apparently available at other venues. A nice change up from theatre, concerts and sporting events for those who like to be entertained on many mental levels."

"Incredible show! So much FUN! Brian & Mark are skillful magicians AND comedians! They kept us guessing and laughing the whole time. They skillfully performed classic tricks and tricks that I've never seen before. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone. Our audience included preteens, young couples, groups of friends, senior citizens, and whole families. And the small venue means that almost everyone in the audience gets to participate in the show at least once! I would definitely go again - and take friends!"

Yelp

"Absolutely FANTASTIC! My mouth was open in amazement for the entire show! It takes us three hours to drive to D.C., but this show was well worth it! I would go to see these guys again and again. They are superb performers - truly skilled magicians with an entertaining comedy twist! The illusions were incredible and there was lots of opportunity for audience involvement. An INCREDIBLE show that I will remember (and be talking about) for a long time!"

Yelp

"What a fun and unique performance! The magicians are top-notch and the illusions are amazing. There is lots of audience participation and the performers are really funny (not cheesy at all)! When I wasn't gaping in amazement at one of their tricks, I was laughing out loud at one of their jokes. This makes a great date night - or family fun night! I would absolutely see this show again (and again) and take along more family and friends to share in the fun!"

"Great show, it's a small location which is great since you can really see everything and they get pretty much everyone in the audience involved. They do a good job with the show itself, both funny guys, and the magic itself is great. Highly recommended."

Yelp

"Brian and Mark's unique presentation of dueling magic was skillful, witty, comical and involved the audience. As an agent and performer myself for decades, I was entertained by their "non traditional" approach. Even though I knew some of the basics of the tricks, I was impressed with their smooth presentation. Brian's mentalism was fun. Mark's Professor's Nightmare rope trick was a "dream"-done so smoothly with some new twists! Sorry my photos of them in action came out blurred but I have good memories. I wanted to see more!"

"Very entertaining. Went to the show on a Friday night at the Maison which was a cool small venue for a show. They were great magicians that kept you guessing. They also did a good job keeping the audience involved by having a lot of people participate in the tricks. Would definitely go back with more people next time."

Yelp

"We had a great time! Both magicians were talented and fun to watch. Very charming guys. The audience was small enough for many of us to participate in some way. (Don't let this stress you out - it was all manageable and fun.)"

"This was FANTASTIC - high-quality magic (with great slight-of-hand tricks) in a casual environment. I've seen a lot of magic performances, including at the Magic Castle in L.A. This was easily on par with those. The small audience makes it feel intimate, and the lovely Biltmore Mansion is a perfect setting. "A Magic Duel, the perfect platform for these two world class masters of up close performance. The humor is family friendly, the action is clear, and the skill is top notch. All combined this totals out to be a perfect date night or special event or even just a Friday night outing."

"If you don't like this show, you don't like magic. Period! Two terrific magicians in an environment that simply couldn't be more intimate! There are no bad seats. This show has it all: If you're into comedy - check; if you're into "the classics of magic" (and you should be) - check; if you're into mind-blowing mentalism - check. I don't remember how long the show was but the time FLEW by! I only hope Mark (with a "k") and Brian (with an "i") will be adding MANY more dates! If they do, one word of advice - GO! Preceded by dinner at Mintwood Place, just around the corner, this was as close to a perfect evening as we've had in a long time!"

Yelp

"This show was absolute fun. Though I understand the mechanics of some of the sleight-of-hand tricks they performed, Brian and Mark performed them so seamlessly that I could not explain how they completed the tricks. To put it another way, Brian and Mark are masters of misdirection and slight of hand. Despite their obvious skills, they understood that you must engage the audience to put on a fun show, as all memorable performers do. Brian and Mark accomplished this with humor. I laughed as much as I ooo-ed and ahhhh-ed. If you have the time, see this show. If you don't have the time, rearrange your schedule."

"This show was SO much fun! I was there for opening night on a date with my husband, and we had a great time. Both magicians fooled us with their talents, and we belly-laughed our way through the show. I'd highly recommend it to friends!"

Yelp

"The two performers, Brian and Mark, do a wonderful job! Under the guise of a competition, they take turns performing magic tricks suggested by the audience. It's well paced and a good mix of comedy and magic. You know you're in the hands of two capable and experienced performers."

"This cozy venue guarantees there is no bad seat to be had. Promises a great view of these talented performers as they combine Improv and Magic creating an unpredictable event with plenty of audience participation."

Yelp

"This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! GO!! Fabulous fun! I would go again and again."

"Small event, around 50 people. Up close and personal to the magic. Both magicians were great. Both fun and personable. They talked with people before and after the show. The audience was fully involved in the magic acts and it was a lot of fun. Highly recommend."

"Yeah, you get to vote for your favorite magician. It's a hilarious set up. And really, everyone wins. Especially if you happen to be in an audience with a hilarious bald German man who really takes the jokes in stride."

Yelp

"We had a blast at this show. It was hilarious and the magicians were remarkable in their skill. We had the VIP tickets for front row seats, which I'd recommend for getting to see all the magic without having to peer over anyone."

"These guys are good, I mean very good! They got me every time. The show takes place in an intimate setting in a beautifully restored large residence in the heart of Adams Morgan (which by the way is loaded with bars and restaurants for before and/or after the show). Mark and Brian are first class magicians that constantly interact with the audience in a very humorous and relaxing way. This is not the type of magic show that you would typically see at your little ones birthday party in the backyard, and yet I think children (probably fifth grade on up) would enjoy it with their family. Great time for young couples and old farts (like me). The show is done in two parts, the first is primarily "the competition". They allow the audience to pick the type of competition (slight of hand, card tricks, children oriented, etc.) and then they're off ..... each alternating tricks literally a few feet in front of you. Then there is intermission with refreshments. The second part of the show is totally with audience participation. What a blast! I'm still blown away by several of the tricks, especially the one with the fortune cookie! I won't ruin it for you by trying to describe the trick. You have to see it and all the other great tricks yourself. I did not "Catch them once". Not sure how long Mark and Brian will be in town, highly recommend the show before these guys go big. You'll regret it later when they are gone. A definite fun time. The only downside to Adams Morgan is the lack of parking. May want to take the Metro to Woodley Park and walk across the bridge to Adams Morgan. Go people, it's very resonable, you'll be glad you did! (p.s. I am not on their payroll, this is legit!)"
